About Jean M. Furgiuele
Jean M Furgiuele creates glimmering, colorful hand painted murals and paintings designed to adorn the walls of any home. She has devoted a large part of her life to the arts, first as a performer and more recently, as a visual artist. While attending high school at Fontbonne Academy in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, Jean performed as both a singer and dancer in various high school and Pittsburgh Playhouse productions. During her sophomore year she spent a semester traveling throughout Europe with the foreign study league learning art history in museums in six countries while soaking up the visual delights and the cultural ambiance of the western world’s great works of art . She attended college at Duquesne University on a performance scholarship with the world famous Duquesne University Tamburitzans traveling extensively throughout the United States. She graduated from Duquesne with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and worked as a stock broker before matriculating at Carnegie Mellon, graduating with a Master’s in Arts Management. After graduating she decamped for Los Angeles and worked on the staff of Steve Bochco Productions on the popular television show “Doogie Howser”
Her visual artistry was integral to much of her previous work but more recently she has turned to painting full-time. Jean spent time in Los Angeles studying with well known muralist and artist Linda Bladen. Jean‘s work could be described as more an idea than a visualization. She produces, to everyone’s delight, not necessarily an exact reproduction of an image but the idea of that image, luminescent and very much in the impressionistic mode. Jean’s most recent project was at ESSpa Kozmetika in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania. Go see it. You will surely like it.
Jean is married to Doctor Arthur J. Ernst Jr and resides in Monaca Pennsylvania where she also has her studio.
